D040 Liquid Colorimeter

The D040 Liquid Colorimeter is a high-performance spectrophotometer designed specifically to measure liquid transmittance and color parameters. Platinum-Cobalt and Gardner Scales — Measures of Liquid Yellowing

Platinum-cobalt color scale: Complies with GB/T3143-1982 and ASTM9282.1-2008 standards.

Platinum-cobalt color is expressed in Hazen units. A solution containing 1 mg of platinum as chloroplatinic acid and 2 mg of cobalt chloride hexahydrate per liter corresponds to a platinum-cobalt color of 1 Hazen units. Typical values range from 1 to 500. This method is used to determine the color of transparent or slightly colored liquid chemical products that resemble the reference platinum-cobalt scale, which typically exhibits a brownish-yellow hue. Gardner Color Scale: Complies with GB/T22295-2008.

Cobalt chloride solution, ferric chloride solution, and potassium chloroplatinate solution are mixed in varying proportions to create a standard color reference, typically ranging from 1 to 18. This scale is used for colors that are darker yellow or brownish compared to the platinum-cobalt color standard.
